GP Training Courses
Many GPs attend our manager and staff training courses – communication skills and front line patient handling skills are generic across all posts within the practice. We deliver training to many GPs in their first five years of practice – management, communication skills, appraisal skills etc. Many GPs are interested in change management methodologies to support practice development and we can facilitate in-practice development planning – visioning, horizon scanning, services development, SWOT/PEST analysis, planning short and long term. Team building and team dynamics are also of interest to partners in growing capacity and moving the team into new areas. We have a very comprehensive session teaching the ‘5 within 7’ model of mediation to GP partners who are sometimes tasked with mediating in-practice disputes with very little support or training. This is also very useful for dealing with complaints in the practice. We also utilize our specialist trainers’ skills in regard to sessions around medicines compliance and motivational interviewing skills with patients.
